Wyoming has struggled the last several years with Trichomoniasis spreading in its cattle industry. The Wyoming Livestock Board recently drafted revisions to the Chapter 15 Trichomoniasis rules to help strengthen prevention efforts.
Changes include a test requirement for exposed bulls, clarification of the test requirements of bulls sold through auction markets, female cattle from infected herds subject to quarantine and a requirement for a Trichomoniasis Quarantine Release Plan.
The livestock board hopes to implement the new rules after the summer breeding season. A comment period is open until Sept. 20. For more information contact Wyoming State Veterinarian Jim Logan at (307) 777-6443.
